A Special Film Series Returns to the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston
Don’t miss the popular program returning for the Museum of Fine Arts’ newest season! “Movies Houstonians Love,” a film series that invites Houston notables to present a favorite film for audiences to enjoy, kicks off with a special screening of the iconic fashion film Mahogany.
Hosted in the Museum of Fine Arts’ Brown Auditorium Theater, the latest iteration of the film series welcomes Joy Sewing, the Fashion & Beauty editor for the Houston Chronicle, who will introduce Mahogany as a perfect complement for the Museum’s incredible Oscar de la Renta exhibition. This classic movie stars the one and only Diana Ross, who plays an ambitious and aspiring designer from the Chicago slums who puts herself through fashion school with the hopes of becoming an international top designer. Her ambition leads her to Rome and a blossoming supermodel career, spurring a choice between the man she loves or her newfound success.
It’s a riveting tale that both fashion-lovers and movie-buffs can enjoy, so be sure to attend this exclusive showing at the Brown Auditorium Theater.
